Working for a small company means wearing a number of different hats. Today I’m wearing my photographer’s hat. Our Florida Condo and HOA magazine sponsors an awards ceremony each year to recognize various condominium properties for a number of different accomplishments. My task was to photograph the actual trophy and then design a full page ad for next year’s Communities of Excellence competition.
Since I’m using all of my own equipment, don’t look for pro lighting gear here. I built a light box out of pvc pipe, sheets, clip-on shop lights and poster board. The entire thing breaks down into a couple of grocery bags when not in use.
The final ad will run in this month’s Florida Community Association Journal. Last year we held the awards ceremony in Ft. Lauderdale at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Okay, no more messing around with circular saws that burn up when scoring concrete. OPERATION FINISH THE FLOORS OR PACK YOUR BAGS is in full effect (kidding, well sort of). Here’s the worm drive saw I just ordered, along with a roller kit and an insane 1/4″ thick, segmented 7 1/4″ saw blade. I’m feeling very much like Tim Taylor from Tool Time. Let the mess begin!!
